Print runs
Order quantities start at 500
copies and can go up to 10,000 or much higher still
– our range of printers allows us to choose the
right one to suit each project and thereby achieve the
best for the client. Typically, authors might order
between 500 and a few thousand copies of their book
as a first printing. Much of the work is in ‘origination’
– all the work done ‘before we go to press’
– and because of the economies of the processes
our printers use this means that once the book is on
press it costs relatively little extra to produce another
500 or 1,000 copies at the same time.
We therefore recommend that clients consider 1,000 copies
as a good economic minimum, although 500 can of course
be produced instead for a small saving if no more copies
than that are required. We normally show a range of
quantities on our estimates in order to help clients
decide.
