SALES, MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION

Please also see details under the section ‘Publishing Your Book Yourself’. The following options are available to Bookprint clients: Self-marketing, Thankful Distribution, Thankful Books, and Avenue Books.

Self-marketing (on its own)

If you are planning to sell/distribute your book solely through your own contacts then you will not require the sales, marketing and distribution service of Thankful Distribution (detailed below). In this case if you would like professional advice about self-marketing – promoting and selling your book yourself – you might wish to employ the services of Mr Bob Clark (click here for more information). Bob has some 30 years’ experience in the Christian booktrade and many authors have benefited from his advice. (See also ‘Promotional aids’ detailed below).

Thankful Distribution (in addition to your own self-marketing)

For clients wishing to make their book as widely available as possible in the Christian booktrade, subject to sight of the manuscript we will be pleased to offer a fully integrated sales, marketing and distribution service. This is through our partner organisation Thankful Distribution who work with major companies in both the Christian and mainstream booktrades. In particular, this provides: marketing, mail-outs, and sales representation to the UK Christian booktrade through the Kingsway sales team. In addition your book can be presented to overseas publishers/distributors. The service also provides availability on the Amazon website – this will allow you to benefit from interest in your book from around the world.

At the same time as using Thankful Distribution you may of course self-market the book to your own customers as you wish, perhaps using the services of Mr Bob Clark (see details under ‘Self-marketing’ above).

Thankful Books (in addition to your own self-marketing)

As an alternative to publishing on your own, you might like your book to be considered for publication into the Christian booktrade through Thankful Books. This is a growing co-operative Christian publishing service working with Bookprint and therefore offering the identical services and benefits of Bookprint and also of Thankful Distribution (as above), but with the additional advantage of belonging to a recognised publishing imprint.

Additional charges apply to this co-operative publishing service and not all books may be accepted, but if you would like your book to be considered by Thankful Books please select 'Yes' in the relevant box on the cost estimate request form. Thankful Books operates as an upgrade from Thankful Distribution, so once we have received your 'go-ahead order' for Bookprint and Thankful Distribution, we will pass your text to Thankful Books for consideration. If it is accepted, you will be advised of the additional charges that would apply.

Avenue Books (in addition to your own self-marketing)
