PUBLISHING YOUR BOOK YOURSELF

It is becoming increasingly difficult for the great majority of authors to find publishers who are willing to take on their book. Over the many years that we have been working for publishers we have seen a continual narrowing of the range, and reduction in the numbers, of new authors that publishers are willing to take on, and the economic pressures these days are sharpening this trend further as publishers focus ever more carefully on those authors and titles which will give them the necessary financial return.

Yet even if they don’t fit into a publisher’s programme, there are many authors whose books nevertheless deserve to be published – whether it’s to be 500 or 1,000 copies, or 10,000 copies or more.

If you have a manuscript that you would like to have published, and if you are ready to finance the design and production of the finished books, then we can help you to publish the book yourself.

You can choose your own publishing name, and use a P.O. Box for your address if you wish. We can help you obtain an ISBN (International Standard Book Number), and we can provide and print a barcode on the cover – this is required if the book is to be sold through the book trade. If you wish we can also design a simple logo for your publishing name to go on the cover.

In addition to designing and producing the finished copies of your book, we can also arrange editorial assistance, and as a further ‘extra’ we can provide a sales, marketing and distribution service (through Thankful Media) if requested. We can also provide some promotional aids for your own use if you wish.

You choose the format and decide how many copies are to be produced (with reference to the detailed cost estimate we provide).
You do not surrender editorial control, but maintain the purpose and vision of your book, from start to finish.

By publishing your book yourself you have the following options:

Self-marketing (on its own): Selling, marketing and distributing all the copies yourself.

Thankful Distribution: Paying extra to employ the sales, marketing and distribution service of Thankful Distribution into the Christian booktrade, while still selling and distributing copies to your own customers as you wish. Thankful Books
As an alternative to publishing strictly on your own, you might like your book to be considered for publication through Thankful Books, into the Christian booktrade. Click here for further information about this.
